The opportunity

An international entertainment company is looking for a on-site full time Linux Systems Administrator with three or more years experience in a LAMP environment and PHP and MySQL to join their systems administration team. The company produces entertainment properties for the web, and is looking to fill this position for their public facing website. The position is full time.

Tasks

• Maintain and improve monitoring of systems and application
• Automation of any manual processes and daily application and server support for all production system
• Work with development team to create and improve scalable architecture
• On-call and 24 hour support of the application in case of emergency
• Maintenance of MySQL database and caching architecture solution

Skills

• Experience with managing a source code management repository such as Subversion, CVS, Perforce
• Experience with Nagios, Ganglia, MRTG; configuring and maintaining hosts, groups, services to monitor
• Ability to operate effectively in a team-oriented and highly collaborative environment
• Able to create ad-hoc utility scripts for maintenance or monitoring on a per needed basis
• BS Degree in a technology related field

Pluses

• Working knowledge for administration of Xen or VMWare ESX nodes and clusters
• Experience with load testing tools such as JMeter and OpenSTA
• Working experience with caching architectures such as Memcached
• Experience using Splunk

Background

• Good communication skills
• Well versed at working with information management teams and processes in a fast paced environment
• Experience working in a corporate environment

Pay Range

• Full Time: Depending on experience
